Through thorough investigation and data-driven analysis, we enable organizations to make informed decisions, optimize processes, and enhance overall performance. With Northwood Consulting Group’s expertise in Root Cause Analysis, businesses can navigate challenges with clarity and confidence, driving sustainable success and growth.
•Northwood Problem Managers engages with key stakeholders and technical services SME to discuss the incident. The meeting is facilitated by Northwood to maintain the objective, to ascertain the Root cause of the incident.
•The Incident is assessed and categorized in order of loss to the business.
•Many businesses will recover their IT systems from an outage but do not record the details around the length of the outage or impact. This means that the true impact is not realized.
•Northwood creates a Root Cause Analysis document as an output from the meetings, the document contains details on the incident itself and the impact to the business or service involved. The loss is assessed whether it be Financial, Operational, Reputational or Regulatory the impact is documented.
•As well as the impact assessment actions are also set down in the RCA document. The action plan is created and assigned to the relevant team. Each team has a set date and time to complete the action, this is set in the RCA meeting and can be negotiated to allow for absence and workloads.
•Northwood have several consultants/disciplined SMEs both locally and internationally which can support the client technical staff in the RCA calls. As an example, we have US based Cyber Security experts who are available to join the RCA meetings and to have input into the resolution actions. Likewise, clients with cloud-based applications may need additional AWS experts to assist with long term resolution.
